Taking a beat and looking at both the upsides and downsides of the month is a great way to see where you want to improve and what is working. We had a some great shows to start off the year. We met new people and experienced our first balloon festival! We got to meet up at Hattast-ique headquarters and have a weekend of planning to start the year off right. We have some new projects in the works and are very excited for the months to come.
Professionally the year is going really well. For me personally I have had a rocky start to the year. I got the cold virus that has been floating around the U.S. and I like many have suffered the wrath of a three week cold that is just now starting to show signs it might let me out of it's death grip. This has been a struggle, because right before that I was meeting all the goals I had set for myself; meal prepping for the family, healthy eating, the house was clean, and I was motivated for both work and the gym. Now I feel like I am starting all over with my goals and it seems like a set back.
So I have decided to not think of the disappointment the month provided, but to think about the positive things that happened. Maybe I needed to slow down after the hustle of December and well being sick took care of that. I got time to hang out with my children. I was able to finish all my required work tasks and am fortunate enough that my health is returning and that it was not something worse than a cold. I ran less errands and therefore life slowed down and I was able to enjoy the little moments I sometimes miss because I am so busy.
As I enter February I am excited to see the progress we have made for the business and get back to crushing my goals. Life will throw us curves, no way around that, but it is how we choose to react to them that will make or break us. So if you had a bad day, bad week, bad month, or year try to seek out the positive things!
