We have just wrapped up our first Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention. The costumes were amazing and Old Tucson is a new favorite. March is filled with adventure for us and we are back on the road headed to Daytona, FL for the Daytona Bike Week! This event is March 9th-18th and we are looking forward to being a vendor there again this year.
This is the 77th Anniversary for this bike week and it is a contender with the Sturgis Bike Rally for the most popular bike week. Every year approximately 500,000 people attend Daytona Bike Week. This is not surprising considering the location provides a break from winter allowing you to head to the beaches and some sun. This rally started as the Daytona 200 Race in 1937. The first race course was 3.2 miles of beach and pavement. The winner of the first race was Ed Kretz with an average of 73.34 mph.
The rally officially took a break during WWII, but people still met in Daytona to let loose during the time the rally would have been. In 1947 Bill France, the co-founder of NASCAR, promoted Daytona Bike Week and the International Speedway Corporation still promotes the 200 Race and Daytona Bike Week. In 1961 the 200 Race moved to the Daytona International Speedway.
We are excited to see our returning and new customers. Staying with family in Daytona for this event is a huge highlight for us. We appreciate the time to connect with those we love. Another wonderful highlight of this event is seeing the wonderful Jasmine Cain perform. This is definitely a favorite for us for so many reasons.
Stop by and say hi, our booth we will be located at Old Boot Hill Saloon in Ormond, FL. We hope you have a great time!
