Fayettville Arkansas: Bikes, Blues, and BBQ

Planning ahead in life is a great habit to establish.  Whether you are planning your day, a party, an event, or even a road trip, you will always have a mental idea of how you will accomplish what you set out to do.  But sometimes life will throw you curve balls and things won't go according to the plan.

Last Monday Luke and Zack set out for Arkansas to attend the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ rally in Fayetville.  This was a new event for Hattast-ique.  We had heard great things about the rally and decided to give it a try.  So we made a check list, formed a plan, and took off bright and early that Monday morning!  Everything started off great.  It seemed like everything would go just how we planned.  Of course this wasn't the case, just two hours into the drive the truck started making weird noises and wasn't driving right.  There wasn't a dealership or mechanic around who could check out the truck that day.  So they turned around and made it back to Kingman.  Thankfully there was a local mechanic who was available to work on the truck that day, so Luke gave the man a few hours to work while we figured out a new plan.  By 5 pm the truck was fixed and back at the house, ready to hit the road again.  Off the guys go, twelve hours behind scheduled and hopeful that everything from here on would go smoothly.  It is an eighteen hour drive from Kingman, AZ to Fayettville, AR.  They drove all night to get to back on track.  They arrived safely and immediately got to work setting up the Hattast-ique booth.

Though they got off to a rough start, the rest of the trip was a good time!  It was nice to be at a new location, meeting new vendors and new customers.  We reconnected with some of our favorite people.  It's important to remember that when things don't go according to plan, you roll with the curve and hope it takes you where you need to be.  It isn't always easy, but the end result is always worth the trouble!
