Rally In The Alley

Where does one even begin a story that has bikes, Las Vegas, family, and fun?  Once upon a time there was Rally In The Alley where Hattast-ique had an amazing hat booth.  The best part of this story is that it is not a fairytale, but a true story.

The rally kicked off on Thursday night and lasted until Sunday.  There were people from all walks of life and that is part of the fun.  Meeting bikers, tourists, locals and other vendors are all part of the work, but if you are doing something you love it takes a lot of that work feeling out of it.  I think this trip was great for me, because while I live vicariously through pictures it is nice to be able to participate in the actual set up and running of the booth.  I got to partake in that aspect of the business.  While I can’t complain about my current role for Hattast-ique doing social media with the fabulous Amanda, it was refreshing to participate in person with our customers and get to post my own experiences.  While exhausting keeping up with both the social media and booth, I also found it to be extremely satisfying.

I would have to say my favorite part of working the booth is actually interacting with our customers and everyone who enters the booth.  We can tend to lose our sense of human connection and can feel very lonely in this world of constant communication with social media.  There is nothing like holding an actual conversation with someone in person.  Making eye contact and just smiling.  That is literally my favorite part of the whole trip.  Whether it was chatting with someone about a particular hat, their life experience, or their love for some aspect of life, it was very nice just to connect with other individuals.  This is what we need for humanity to thrive, that connection.

The Rally itself was an overall success and amazing time.  Between working the booth, a few rounds at the slot machines, and having sometime to watch the lovely girls dancing on the bar it was a great time.  It is always a good time connecting with our neighbor vendors.  The best part though is watching someone’s face light up as they enter the booth!

We would like to thank Hogs & Heifers Saloon for hosting this event and all the people that took the time to make this event a success.  A special thank you goes to Penny Osiecki for all your hard work.

Thank you to all of you who stopped by our booth and to those of you who followed us on Social Media.  You are why we do what we do! The best journey in life is the one that leaves you feeling fulfilled and there is true joy emanating from you.
