We are finally home! The past six weeks have come and gone quicker than I expected. We have been every where from Arkansas to Nevada and Colorado to the Florida shore line and all the states in between! As we travel and attend new rallies, we really get to know the different vendors that are called to open road just as we are. Over the past three years we have met the most amazing families, other small businesses, from traveling and working events.
The life of a traveling merchant has it's freedoms but as with everything, comes at a prices as well. You put in a lot of time and energy when it comes to selling your merchandise at an event. You deal with crowds of people all day long, or in most cases all week long. You can expect the busy days, usually Fridays and Saturdays. And you know the slow days are going to seem that much longer. It's usually those slow days vendors will venture out of their booth and catch up with other vendors. We ask how the day is going, how other events have been this year. The small talk is nice when you still have 8 hours of the day left and you've already been working for three or four. There is always a mutual trust and understanding when we connect with our vendor community. We are all in this together.
As I look back on everywhere we have been this year, I am thankful our paths have crossed with all the wonderful, hard working families that we have had the pleasure of getting to know. As Hattast-ique continues to explore the open roads, we are excited to see exactly where those roads will take us!
